The Waterside bar in Howth, a busy and affluent suburb of Dublin, is the latest addition to McGregor’s pub portfolio, which includes the Black Forge Inn and the Marble Arch.The UFC’s first-ever double champion reportedly splashed out £1.7million to become the property’s owner and is believed to have spent a further £868,000 transforming the venue into a gastro pub.
The pub survived an attempted petrol bomb attack earlier this year and continues to thrive, recently hosting former Celtic striker and football legendIn 2021, McGregor splashed £2m on a second pub which just happened to be the venue of one of his most infamous faux pas. The Marble Arch is where the Irishman was caught on camera assaulting Des Keogh in April 2019, an incident he later apologised for and was fined £860 by the Dublin District Court.
After raking in an estimated $180million in a calendar year, McGregor beat the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Lewis Hamilton to the top ofOne year later and the injured UFC legend is out of the top-10, but that hasn’t stopped him spending and this latest acquisition is proof that life is still good for ‘Mystic Mac’.
McGregor hasn’t competed since suffering a fractured tibia and fibula at UFC 264 in July 2021. The fan favourite fighter is currently working his way back to full fitness ahead of his eagerly anticipated comeback fight later this year.
