Monsoonal floods that swept across much of the American Southwest this week caused flooding at the Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch in Pahrump, Nevada, shutting down operations on at least one of the facility's tracks for at least a week or more, according to local reports, until the mud and debris flows can be cleared up. A flood watch has been issued for the nearby Las Vegas Valley until Friday.
“The water came rushing down the mountain and, normally, it comes from different directions. This is the first time that we’ve seen it come from, more or less, the right side,” Spring Mountain’s Todd Crutcher told KTNV Channel 13 Las Vegas. “This is actually a race track you see, and now it’s just like one big pond.”
