Former Lord Mayor of Dublin hazechu says higher property taxes would help alleviate the capital's litter problem.

"Because of how things have happened, coming out of the pandemic, the resources have been changed around.

"And time and time again... ourselves in the Greens, Labour, other parties have asked for... plus 15% of the property tax to make sure there is a budget there for council to try to enact certain services."We're at minus 15% in Local Property Tax, it's not back to the ask of 0%"."I think what we've noticed coming out, and we're not totally out of things - but we have been slowly emerging from a pandemic - is that the streets have gotten worse.

hazechu When I was growing up in the country we had a busy-body in the *parish (*a group of townlands in the country or area of a city) called Hazel. My mother said not to mind her as she was called after a nut and they nicknamed her 'any old bandwagon Hazel' What's in a name?

hazechu Ah brilliant hezel is back we can all relax

hazechu Is this all they can up with, more Tax Let’s tax people out of existence. How about we sort out the waste, the overspending, the overpaid politicians and high ranking civil servants. Get that sorted 1st hazechu

hazechu Typical Green Party. Raise taxes on everything to solve issues. People are screwed enough with property tax. If ever there was an unjust tax. Private Property does not generate income.

hazechu Property tax is a joke. And this is just another way of hurting the middle class. Stop taxing us, taxation is already stupidly high in this country.

hazechu We are paying higher taxes for are HSE And see the state off that 🤔 No thanks

hazechu Chu done little as a ceremonial mayor, failed becoming a TD & senator. She has no solutions. We need an elected mayor + DCC chief held accountable. Waste & rot in the system in extreme. Not to mention DCCs pet projects. Higher property taxes is pouring money into a leaky bucket

hazechu She also slandered a bunch of teachers and never apologised

hazechu Hazel Chu is a spoofer. All the Greens are spoofers.

hazechu No it wouldn't at all. Why can't we just educate children in school & at home that throwing your Maccas wrapper on the ground is disgusting & has no place in a civilized society. In a few generations it'll be sorted

hazechu Chinese Communist wants higher taxes, there's a surprise.

hazechu If ever a Green Party needs to be wiped out

hazechu Why is she even mentioned. She’s a nobody

hazechu What’s needed is geospatial literacy for people, businesses and authorities. Citizen science fixes this but 15 years here not a single opportunity to develop openlittermap in Ireland

hazechu Is there any question that taxes isn't the answer to?

hazechu Irish civil authorities to every single problem; raise taxes

hazechu No wonder this country so messed up. Their solution to every problem is to give more money to the waster clowns in power who caused the problem in the first place.

hazechu Another reason why the greens should be obliterated... pointless organisation.

hazechu What would help a lot more, would be if DubCityCouncil got up of their backsides and did their jobs - and that means both clean the city, and get their litter wardens out fining people 😡😡😡 typical Green, oh, eh, let's increase taxes 🙄😡

hazechu Is there a direct link between higher taxes and cleaner streets other than to use the money to pay for cleaning services? If that is the only link, a fine or community service for littering would be more effective as it would also discourage littering.

hazechu more tax is the answer to everything..

hazechu She obviously cannot see all the homeless people living on the capital streets, and her suggestion would cause more. Tax payers pay well and above for services in this country but seems said services only get worse.

hazechu The only way problems are sorted here is by banning or taxing something.

hazechu We already pay for rubbish to be taken by private companies. We already pay the highest rate of LPT and this eegit suggests more.

hazechu What a total clown.

hazechu The hazel chú who was mayor for a year and did nothing, and the only thing she can think of now is a task force and tax increase.

hazechu The Green Party has no solutions to any problems bar to increase taxes. They should never be allowed near government

hazechu Bwahahaha the madness

hazechu She is highly intelligent maybe even gifted

hazechu She is one smart cookie

hazechu Irish people have never been litter bugs. Its the blow ins.

hazechu Their answer to everything is more tax.

hazechu Tax will fix everything, is the answer from any politician. NO it wouldn’t. The capitals streets WERE dirty before. Just showing up better on new pavement because some bright spark thought having light coloured stone (intended for indoor use) on Main Street.

hazechu The Greens answer to everything, TAX TAX TAX ,BASTARDS!!!

hazechu Maybe more bins?

hazechu Tax tax and more tax from the greedy greens.

hazechu And cognitive dissonance appears yet again... Why more..... Why not streamline an over bureaucratic, wasteful public system.... Get rid of the wasteful excess that is inherent in any system

hazechu Higher tax would help the people who probably not work put litter in the bin?

hazechu Or perhaps the council could work more efficiently. For instance do we really need 4 people breast feeding a shovel while one actually works

hazechu It's the Greens only answer to ever problem!

hazechu When she was Lord mayor, she did nothing about filthy streets .

hazechu Just do your fxxking job. .

hazechu 🤡🤡

hazechu There's a surprise, former Green TD what's people to pay higher tax 🥱

‘Energy-efficient’ homes paying higher gas bills than those with lower BER, CSO figures showResearch finds properties with high BERs use more fuel 'However, the research did find that better insulated homes used less heat per square metre. A- and B-rated homes consumed 89 KWh against 89 KWh for F- and G-rated properties.' Might want to correct this as it makes no sense as is. Research finds high ber houses are bigger than low ber houses.... Sigh We know that rich people consume much more than poor people, but can afford large energy efficient homes and electric cars and to live close to work. And also that green initives continue to favour the wealthy.
