One week after my mother was moved out of ICU the hospital did everything to push me to put her in LTC. I was told she will never function. But I refused and eventually after I stood my ground she was sent to rehab. She is back home living her life and managing the on her own

My grandfather spent 3 months in hospital waiting for LTC and with negligence of the nurses he fell and broke his hip in the middle of the night trying to go to the bathroom and the nurses ignoring his call button and he died 3 weeks after hip surgery. I would have loved this

A Hospital is not a place for long-term care. You shouldn't be able to stay there indefinitely.

I am in agreement with this. However I do believe that we also still need to address long-term care homes the non-privatized ones. I am not sure what has happened since the pandemic in terms of improvements that they have been making. We also need more long-term care homes
And it's not a status quo quick fix either ....😡😏
