Martha's Vineyard local officials expressed concern about long-term shelter plans for migrants sent to the island because of its well-documented housing crisis. Affordable housing is scarce on the island and has been for years.

in September. "Indigenous people whose families have lived on the island for centuries have been forced to leave their homeland. Firefighters and government workers can’t afford to stay in the communities they serve."

"So, you know, everyone is meeting about this. There’s multiple wheels that are turning and departments that are working together. It really is a community effort — and that community is, you know, from here to Boston, probably to the White House.""The difficult challenges are … at some point in time, they have to move from here to somewhere else. We cannot — we don’t have the services to take care of 50 immigrants. We certainly don’t have housing.

"I had one young man come to me and he said, ‘Can I go to the ferry now? I have to go get a job today. I’ve been gone for two months. My family needs money.’ All right, he wasn’t asking me for money. He wanted to know if he could leave to go get a job. Like, that says something about him as an individual." "Yes, yeah — the refugees. I mean, every single one of them wants a job. They’re not here saying, ‘Give me money’ or ’Give me clothing’ or ‘Give me this.’ They want to work.

Fox News shoved their cameras in children’s faces the moment they got off the plane. Many children walked 6 countries through jungles while stepping over dead bodies. Ron “Jafar” DeSantis has children yet this is how he decided to treat children who escaped horror with horror.

Too bad. MV needs workers and these folks seem willing to work. Could have been win-win.

Of course housing is in short supply, the elite coastal liberals don't want the poor living in their oasis of limousine liberalism.

It's funny how naive people are, did they really expect these immigrants to stay on Martha's Vineyard forever? Integrate with the community and be adopted like stray pets? Immigration law is a process, migrant shelter and ICE detention centers are real places for a reason.

LOL These rags coming to the defense of the 'strife' experienced by these poor, white elite.

That’s why sadist DeSantis sent them there! He and Abbott need to be charged with human trafficking and more!

So what are the liberal Democrats doing to address the lack of affordable housing in the MV area? If they can’t fix that problem in their own backyard, what should make any voter believe that liberal Democrats can do it anywhere else?

Thanks for the laugh this morning

“Expressed concern”, then had the military take them away.

Charge these people involved in sending migrants with felonies asap, here’s the relevant statutes-

The fact that MV didn’t and won’t put up with migrants there actually appeals to me. I think I’ll check out Zillow to see what’s on the market.

'Housing crisis'. They have over 100k avaialble beds in the off season...

Affordable housing is scarce on the island and has hampered the hiring of essential workers. Looks like these are just empty words now. Shameful. I know someone who has a 10 bedroom home there. They might be able to help Do you think Del Reo is better equipped?

Migrants flown to Martha's Vineyard to be moved to mainlandAuthorities say migrants flown to Martha’s Vineyard on the orders of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis will be moved to housing on a military base on Cape Cod So much for Martha's Vineyard being a sanctuary city like they declared themselves a year ago. Isn't that human trafficking?as usual the hypocritical dems. We have have those people in our backyards but its ok for rest of country Lol, they don't care when hundreds of thousands overrun the border states but when a handful of them are dropped off at their Liberal Lily-White Elitist Haven, they are all up in arms about it. What hypocrites. Liberals don't care about the rest of America.

Migrants were promised jobs, free housing before being taken to Martha's VineyardThe migrants were approached as they crossed the street to go to McDonald's, getting, for many, their first taste of the United States while staying at a San Antonio shelter. Classic San Antonio among the fattest in the nation So you mean the rich thoughtful tolerant liberals in the liberal utopia of Massachusetts aren't giving them jobs and housing Well isn't thT special, in my church lady voice.
