The agency said the prices were pitched at 30 per cent below comparable average open market prices in the area. This may be 25% lower than mkt price but it is outrageous ! The fundamentals are flawed, work to make money to spend it all for basic shelter needs. This is no way to live, is there any comprehension of the stress on the tax paying purchaser who needs a home? !
Should be enough to buy it for that.
We regulate taxi prices to within a euro per kilometer, but GOD FORBID we regulate one of the most important basic human needs, this government have turned this country into a joke, regulate property and rent prices in the same way we regulate taxis its not that difficult

€18,000 a year to rent. Mortgages are cheaper than this. 25 year Mortgage at 1500 a month. What house price does that equate to? This is insanity and down right immoral.
More like €445 would be acceptable and write it into law - €200 per person per month. No HAP needed and people can budget - and those on lowest income could afford it -
Still completely ridiculous that people should have to pay a grand and a half a month for a two bedroom house.
Just like that 1455. Over a third of people's monthly income, to live in someone else's house.
Depending on the location, that’s approx 25% lower than the current market rent.
