Bay of Quinte MPP Todd Smith was at Belleville Nissan on Millenium Parkway, Monday, May 2, 2022 to announce the widening of Highway 401 through the Quinte Region and the BEAR are officially on the province's draft transportation plan for eastern Ontario. “We get the bulk of our base load power from nuclear, which makes up 60% of our electricity every day and another 20 to 25 per cent comes from our hydro-electric fleet, that we also have bio-mass facilities, natural gas, wind and solar. So we have a very, very diverse supply in Ontario.”He finished by stating that just three per cent of Ontario’s emissions come from the electricity sector.
The new build for Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital is something Smith says is a high priority locally this year as well.
