All this hand-wringing over 348 units of housing by 2031.

The Curry family's beef,, centers on a single-family home at 23 Oakwood Blvd., which is located near their own property."We kindly ask that the town adopts the new housing [plan] without the inclusion of 23 Oakwood," the Currys wrote in a letter.

Atherton, population 7,200, has long been made up of single-family homes with 1-acre minimum lot requirements. It hasor commercial spaces. Affordable housing in California is defined by area median income, meaning"low-income" earners in Atherton's county of San Mateo still make more than six figures of income.

Tom, one of many attendees wearing a green shirt that read,"Like a good neighbor, 23 Oakwood is there" — a confusing possible show of solidarity with former State Farm spokesperson Steph Curry — asked the city council to"push back harder and not be so quick to assume we must do what they say," presumably referring to the California Housing and Community Development Department.

You see, Steph believes Jebus blessed *him*, not all those plebs who want to live next door to him. They’re poor because Jebus decided that they should be poor, and they should therefore stay poor by staying out of Atherton in accordance with the will of Bob. Praise Bob almighty.

“…‘low-income’ earners in Atherton … make more than six figures of income.” Imagine complaining about having to live near the riff-raff making over 6 figures, bc those people will “fundamentally ruin the fabric of the town.” So entitled, privileged, self-absorbed & selfish.

All of atherton is high high end homes. Yea atherton probably shouldn’t have multifamily housing, and that’s OK! Put that next door in Menlo Park Rich people better start voting more conservatively, or they’re going to have projects next to their multi-million dollar homes.

Atherton Moves Forward With Controversial High-Density Housing ProjectAtherton officials are moving forward with a controversial plan that would potentially increase housing density in many parts of the town. There are already six vacant homes in America for every one homeless person. Stop building, and address the greed keeping people from shelter that already exists. Good for Atherton’s local government. Affordable housing is needed in droves. Housing density? They are going to make their homes hurricane and bomb proof? In all seriousness, aren't these the same people that preach 'no borders, no walls' and hold ultra rich dinners for the mega rich democrats? Why don't they have affordable housing?
