EDF becomes fourth energy firm to stop forced installation of prepayment meters

after the industry has faced months of pressure to stop pushing families to live in the cold and dark.

Utilita has said it has suspended all warrant activity, while Shell Energy has suspended warrants until the end of winter. EDF has also now suspended the forced installation of the meters while it conducts a review of its processes to “reconfirm they are robust and see if we can make improvements”.
