Jimmie Sloan pours a warm cup of coffee for diners keeping warm inside a Waffle House on North Collins Street in Arlington on Jan. 31, 2023. A heavy band of sleet earlier in the day caused treacherous driving conditions.Squall lines of sleet forced us to retreat to the comfy confines of our homes on Tuesday. Treacherous driving conditions left crackly, ice-covered streets void of the usually heavy traffic that flows through north Arlington.
