Residents at a care home in Stockport have praised the facility's new on-site children's nursery for 'bringing my heart up' and 'making me feel alive again'.
Fernlea spokesperson Louise Claffey explained: "Some of our residents have very little contact with their families so they really look forward to the activities with the children. 'Confidence and acceptance' Louise knows from first-hand experience the benefits of intergenerational activity. In fact, we're proof of the benefits of intergenerational activity from back before it became a media buzzword.
Separate from the main building, 'Cut' allows residents to experience the joy of a day out at the movies or at the salon without leaving the comfort and safety of their home. "With regular visits from professionals and an array of products, our residents can book a slot to get their hair cut and styled, have a manicure or pedicure, or simply relax while having a head massage."
