The government has tried to sneak this under the radar, but they are still forging ahead,” she said.“They should be pushing their decision on a corridor back by at least six months for further and proper consultation, but that’s not going to happen because Palaszczuk wants her green energy for the Olympics.”
“There is a lot of community anger. This corridor should go on state land rather than through freehold land. It’s just going to devalue properties and make businesses broke.” It is expected to announce its preferred north/south corridors in late March, with a final corridor to be released mid-year.A Powerlink spokeswoman said they were investigating opportunities to further use state-owned land “wherever practical”.The state government’s second pumped hydro project, the, near Mackay, is also controversial, requiring the resumption of 50 homes.
For a start, pumped-hydro is just a gaint, inefficient battery. It cannot 'replace' any form of generation.
