Affordability gap. You mean that with $15/hour minimum wage, a Big Mac is getting more expensive.

The companies in US are doing something Hommization than the stupid government.

ImpactDemocracy Smart and good use of their profits. It will benefit so many people and make MS more productive amazon should consider doing the same thing in NY where the cost of housing is absurd

社会貢献は、とても素晴らしいと思う。

Seattle, San Francisco, LA, etc. all run by dems. Another progressive accomplishment. Keep it up. A tent city and poop lined streets coming to a neighborhood near you.

JeffBezos, if Microsoft can pledge 500M$ toward Seattle housing crisis, Richest man in world can do same. It is right thing to do. Please.

Much easier, free solution... stop voting Democrat.

If you read the article that vast amount of the money they are 'giving' is being LOANED at low rates. So the idea that they are giving away 500 million is not supported by the article. The vast majority is going to be a loan.

Build a wall that should solve the problem

Hey Seattle..... How's that $15 minimum wage working out? Not so hot, eh?

the problem wont be fixed until the price of living goes down, it is absurdly high on the west coast

Is this more of your fake news?

Why, those poor laid off Gov’t Workers might miss a free meal if this money goes towards helping those who REALLY need it.

I hope they are aware that the problem is not solved by giving them housing. It's more complicated than that.

Sad, enough $ to give every man, women, & child a Million dollars in this country and majority will go to corrupt officials.

“Affordable housing” isn’t affordable at all to those sleeping on the streets that have no money at all lol. I don’t see how this will help homeless people.

needs more donation bin

Microsoft pledges $500 million to address homelessness, affordable housing in the Seattle areaThe pledge comes at a fraught time for tech companies and the cities that house them, as skyrocketing home prices have outpaced increases in income. GOOD If they REALLY want to help then they should invest in building homes for the needy and providing people with jobs they can actually depend on financially. Any time you start working with the government, whatever money you pledge will not be used towards the cause you wish. Shouldn’t be their job to do this, raise taxes on the rich & have marginal rates, cut money from military as its bloated), & reinvest in the people the government personnel swore to support when they took the job.
