The State Cabinet will make a decision next week regarding the Housing and Urban Development Board’s (LPPB) proposal to ask tenants of the People’s Housing Programme (PPR) for more than 10 years to vacate their homes

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor said the issue and proposal will be brought to the State Cabinet meeting to be discussed carefully and a decision taken.“Although there is a warning from the Audit Department, we are of the opinion that we cannot ask tenants over 10 years to vacate the house. “This is because those who live in PPR rental houses are those who still need a place to live and so on.

The provision of the transit house is one of the suggestions put forward by the MPPS participants at their conference this time, aimed at easing the burden of graduates who are looking for work to get a house with a low rental rate. Earlier, Hajiji emphasised the State Government’s commitment to developing human capital as one of the main points outlined in the SMJ Direction development plan.
