An emergency warning has been issued over a large and fast-moving blaze threatening homes around Gladstone.

Residents of Oyster Creek, near Agnes Water were told to "leave immediately" last night after the fire continued to intensify.

QFES Chief Superintendent Tony Johnstone said their main focus would be controlling the Deepwater fire, which has been burning for days.
