David Guinane, the former chief executive of PTSB, is being “singled-out” by the Central Bank for his role in the tracker mortgage breaches and is being made out as a scapegoat for the scandal, the banker’s legal team has claimed. On the opening day of a public inquiry into whether the former PTSB banker breached consumer protection rules amid the scandal, Guinane’s legal counsel claimed the investigation was “unfair” and “extraordinary”.
