Housing ‘High risk’: Houses will not be built due to dire water shortage

The delivery of tens of thousands of homes is under major threat amid a “high risk of major water shortages” in the greater Dublin area over the next six years, the Housing Commission will warn the government. In an unpublished landmark report on the future of Irish housing, the commission will say the country’s water infrastructure risks jeopardising the government’s plan to meet its current and longer-term targets.
