Hundreds of homes across Nottinghamshire are experiencing a power cut due to a high-voltage incident. It is understood that 633 properties in the NG3 area of Nottingham are impacted by the incident, as well as 21 homes across the NG22 and NG23 area of the county.
Issues in the county were first reported at around 6.30am this morning , and the power cut is expected to be resolved 10am in both areas. In an update on X, formerly known as Twitter, the National Grid stated: "Apologies for the #powercut in #Nottingham #NG3 & surrounding areas. "Our engineers are working on the issue and aim to restore all supplies by 09:30." On the organisation's website, it adds: "We are aware of this power cut incident which was raised at 8:00am this morning and our engineers are working to get the power returned as quickly as possible. We are sorry for any inconvenience this is causing you."The outage was caused by a fault on the high-voltage network in the area, and the organisation is currently working on the fault.
Regarding the incident in north Nottinghamshire, the website states: "We are aware of this power cut incident which was raised at 6:31am this morning and our engineers are working to get the power returned as quickly as possible. "We are sorry for any inconvenience this is causing you." This incident was due to a fault on the overhead network, and properties in the area may experience their supply going on and off whilst engineers work to resolve the issue.
