John Cairns, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene of a property in Shiel Gardens, Shotts on Thursday.

A murder probe has been launched after a man died from serious injuries in a Lanarkshire home earlier this week.

The 24-year-old's death is now being treated as murder with detectives carrying out a major investigation into what happened. Officers from Police Scotland are set to pour through CCTV footage and carry out door-to-door inquiries in the area.
