East Dunbartonshire: Homes evacuated after 'suspect item' found

Police Scotland were called to Benvue Road in Lennoxtown around 11.20pm on Saturday, June 8 following reports of a van on fireA NUMBER of people were forced to leave their homes following the discovery of a ‘suspect item’ after a van caught fire.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A suspect item was found at the vehicle and this has been made safe by Explosive Ordnance Disposal.“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and a police presence will remain in the area while this work is ongoing.”We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories.
