A FACTORY worker who beat his brother to death in a row of their parents’ £500,000 home hid the body in a shed then moved into the property with the family dog.
The killer lived his dream of having the property to himself for a week, using his parents’ bed, attending work as normal and going to the pub and cinema. During a trial of issue last month, Richard told the court he had cared for his dying mother with John never lifting a finger.His mum Jean Martin died In December of 2012 while Richard was on a short holiday to Morocco but he did not find out until he returned on December 27.
Richard - who was living in a bedsit - believed he was entitled to a £250k share of his dad’s investments but received nothing when they were sold. The brothers first moved into the detached home in Hemel Hempstead, Herts., with their parents William and Jean in 1971.
