The once\u002Dpowerful Vision Vancouver party released its housing platform on Sunday, demanding an end to low\u002Ddensity housing zones in the city.

Vision Vancouver, which dominated city hall from 2005 to 2018, is not running a mayoral candidate but is has three council candidates, including current parks board commissioner Stuart Mackinnon.Start your day with a roundup of B.C.-focused news and opinion delivered straight to your inbox at 7 a.m., Monday to Friday.By clicking on the sign up button you consent to receive the above newsletter from Postmedia Network Inc.

The party would also do away with public consultation on all non-profit and public co-op housing projects, such as the controversial and recently approved 13-storey social housing complex at 7th Avenue and Arbutus Street. A three-month permit guarantee would also be given to any single-family homeowner who wants to densify their lots with a secondary suite, duplex, triplex or laneway house. Any project that is valued at under $50,000 would also have to be approved within three months.

Vision Vancouver is running against a deep and varied group of political parties all wanting power in Vancouver. These include Forward Together, TEAM Vancouver, ABC Vancouver, the Green party, Progress Vancouver, NPA, OneCity and COPE.
