Brian Lilley: Ford to allow land swap to expand Greenbelt and build 50,000 homesOntario aims to let developers build on up to 7,400 acres of current greenbelt land in exchange for swapping in 9,400 acres of other land. What so Brian Lilley covers his boss in both the Sun and the Post? Is there nobody who is not currently living with Ford's staff available to write positive things about Doug? Why not just let the press secretary write the articles? The intent of a greenbelt is to limit urban sprawl while protecting environmentally sensitive areas. Moving the goalposts further away does neither. Oregon put into law, urban growth boundaries more than 40 years ago. It works! But Doug's developer friends got what they wanted. I wish I bet money on this . I knew our green space and farmland would be at risk. So much for environmentalism .
