Ford cares nothing about our environment or the green belt. He just wants his cronies to pave over everything.

The previous green belt legislation, thanks to Premier Ford’s MZO amendments, is as good as gone now. Turns out that developers are good at paying off legislators

Stop building out and build up. Stop the obsession with houses and create condos with green space that everyone shares. This saves the greenbelt and creates more housing.

If it's to build more closet-sized condos to be bought and kept empty by Chinese and Russian real estate speculators, then forget it.

Look at Ontario Realty Corp and develop vacant urban/suburban crown land that is not greenbelt or closed on govt facilities . More housing if you regulate speculative short term rentals that are creating homeless people.

The greenbelt was also meant to preserve farmland by preventing sprawl and encouraging intensification of built areas that have services & amenities. The Ford gov't is easily bought by developers to undermine the wise planning of the greenbelt to the detriment Ontarians.

So long as large developers don’t get to scoop it up and screw all the folks that own the land that will suddenly become protected

Building mansions on existing Greenbelt lands will not solve housing crisis. There is an acute need of entry level homes and condos serviced by public transportation. This will only serve rich developers who have supported Doug Ford. There is enough land in “buildup areas”
